Nursery Ministry

Nursery 3 Children are a vital part of Sunrise, and we strive for excellence in every program we offer. The Sunrise nursery provides childcare for infants to age 3 (36 months) during our worship service and also during the Sunday School hour. The nursery is divided into two sections: Infant and Toddler.

Infant
Our Infant Nursery is for newborn to the walking stage. It is always staffed with two or more women who will lovingly care for your child.

Toddler
Our Toddler Nursery is for walkers through the age of 3 years. It is always staffed with two or more adults and a student helper, and features lots of toys and books to keep your little one busy!

Nursery 2What to bring
When packing a diaper bag for your child, please include the following items:

  • A diaper bag containing items such as diapers, pacifiers, favorite toy or blanket, change of clothes, etc.
  • For infants: A bottle of milk, formula, juice or water.
  • Our toddlers may also visit the playground, weather permitting. Please send a jacket or sweater with your child during cooler weather.

Please label all personal items with your child’s first and last name before arriving at the nursery. This helps us keep track of your child’s items.

Your Child’s Health Nursery 1
We request that you not place your child in the nursery while they are at risk of exposing other children to any illness. For the protection of all children, we cannot accept a child with a fever, rash, diarrhea or any other signs of illness. Thank you in advance for helping us keep our nursery program a healthy place for all.

When You Arrive At Sunrise
A volunteer will check you in at the Children’s Ministry Desk. You will receive a sticker with your child’s name on it and a security sticker for you to show during check-out time. You can then bring your child and any other necessary items to the nursery window where a volunteer will greet you. Please note any information that will help in caring for your child such as feeding times, sleeping times, allergies and special needs.

Saying Good-bye
After you have completed the check-in process, simply wave a quick good-bye and leave for the worship service. As you know, it is normal for little ones to cry when leaving a parent. This does not last long, and separation becomes easier over time. Our volunteers will immediately try to create interest in a toy or activity and give assurance that you will return after the worship service is completed. If your child cries for an extended period of time of 10 minutes, we will page you.

Checking On Your Child
Feel free to check on your little one at any time during the worship service.

Snacks
Snacks are provided for the children once they graduate to the Toddler Nursery. The food items consist of water and Cheerios or animal crackers for our new walkers through 36 months. If your child has an allergy, please inform the leader when you check in your child.

Picking up Your Child
You will pick up your child at the Infant Nursery Window. The nursery volunteer will require you to show your security sticker in order to pick up your child.  Please make sure that all your child’s personal items have been returned to you before you leave the premises. Lost and found items will be retained for a short time.
